TRT in Cool Springs, TN

When we get older, we come to realize that everything we read and hear isn't always factual. That's particularly relevant when it comes to aging in men. If you were to listen to men 30 years ago, they might tell you that you have to accept the downsides of aging. Intimacy issues in the bedroom are just par for the course, right?

The truth is, as we age, our bodies undergo physiological changes with a gradual decline in energy and ability that is almost imperceptible at first. With time, those changes become more pronounced and concerning. And while older generations may have been content to carry on living with such burdens, advances in modern medicine have shown that these changes often stem from low testosterone.

Some of the most common symptoms of low testosterone include the following:

  • Low Libido
  • ED
  • Fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Depression
  • Muscle Loss
  • Hair Loss
  • Weight Gain
  • Energy Loss
  • Lethargy
  • Non-Interest in Sex

Those are frightening symptoms, especially if you're a man in your mid-thirties or early forties. But if you're suffering from one or more of these symptoms, you should know that you're not alone. Millions of men suffer from low T. In fact, it's been reported that as much as 75% of men go about their days with undiagnosed low testosterone. However, taking a proactive approach and taking the necessary steps to support your body during this transition can help you welcome the aging process and minimize physiological changes.

One of the most popular and effective ways that men across the United States are doing so is with TRT in Cool Springs, TN. This revolutionary therapy helps balance testosterone levels that would otherwise fluctuate with age, giving men just like you a tool to turn back the hands of time. But to do so, you must first understand the all-encompassing effects of testosterone in your body.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy Cool Springs, TN

Understanding Testosterone Levels and Aging

Testosterone is a hormone that is often associated with exaggerated masculinity and aggression. However, in reality, it plays a crucial role in almost every aspect of a male's life. This sex hormone is produced in the testicles and reaches its peak during puberty. The production of testosterone is regulated by the pituitary gland located at the base of the brain. The testicles receive signals from the pituitary gland and produce testosterone accordingly. If the levels of testosterone become too high, the brain signals the pituitary gland to stop its production.

Testosterone has a crucial role for males, and affects the development of:

  • Facial Hair
  • Body Hair
  • Voice Deepness
  • Libido
  • Sperm Development
  • Confidence
  • Muscle Mass

When a man gets older, however, his body begins to change, and his hormone levels often become imbalanced. When that happens, a litany of issues begins to proliferate, causing life to change drastically for men of a certain age. During this time of change, men often lose the "edge" that made them unique. If you're in your mid-30s or 40s, that may sound familiar. Fortunately, you don't have to settle for the new you. TRT in Cool Springs, TN, can help you reclaim the edge you thought you'd lost forever.

To get a true understanding of the advantages of testosterone replacement therapy offered by Compass Human Performance, you've got to know how it works. Testosterone was first synthesized in a laboratory in the early 1900s and has since been recommended as a treatment option for low testosterone levels in medical settings. In recent times, it has become one of the most frequently prescribed medications in the United States.

TRT is designed to re-establish healthy testosterone levels in males who have low T. Its mechanism works much like insulin does for diabetics. As one ages, the body fails to produce sufficient levels of this vital male hormone. When this occurs, an external source is required to replace it, and in this case, TRT serves that purpose.

While many men begin TRT regimens after 50, an increasing number of males in their 30s and 40s are undergoing testing to see if their testosterone levels are lacking. If you are experiencing symptoms such as ED but believe you are too young for low testosterone, you may want to have your T levels evaluated by an experienced doctor to find out for sure.

TRT For Men Cool Springs, TN

In most cases, testosterone levels begin to drop as a man reaches middle age. This is a natural process that is inevitable. However, sometimes, other issues can cause low T. Some of those causes may include the following:

  • Chronic Diseases
  • Injured Testicles
  • Obesity
  • Car Wrecks
  • Substance Abuse
  • Prescription Medications

Outlining the Benefits: Why is TRT in Cool Springs, TN So Popular?

At Compass Human Performance, many first-time patients often ask us about the benefits of testosterone replacement therapy. Luckily, there are a lot of benefits to cover for men suffering from low testosterone.

There is a significant body of evidence indicating that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can have a positive impact on a range of health issues in men, including myocardial ischemia in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), exercise capacity in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF), and serum glucose levels, HbA1c, and insulin resistance in men with diabetes and prediabetes.

But that's just the beginning. Testosterone replacement therapy has been shown to provide men with a host of other benefits, including:

More Muscle and Less Body Fat

Numerous studies have demonstrated the significant impact of testosterone on men's muscle mass, strength, and body fat levels. This is something that most men who begin taking testosterone notice, as it often leads to a dramatic change in their physique. Testosterone is a highly effective muscle mass builder, as it increases protein synthesis required for growth and improves neuromuscular function, resulting in increased strength.

This is due to the androgenic effect of testosterone, which includes the effects of DHT (dihydrotestosterone). Men with higher testosterone levels tend to have lower overall visceral and abdominal body fat levels, as both things (when elevated) have negative impacts on overall health and can lead to increased mortality rates.

However, it is important to note that TRT is not a magic solution - while it is highly effective at increasing muscle, it is not effective at shedding body fat on its own. You can't just hop on a TRT regimen and expect pounds of body fat to fall off your body. A consistent workout regime and a healthy diet are essential for improving this, although testosterone can make the dieting process much easier for those who struggle to lose body fat.

At Compass Human Performance, your provider can help create a customized TRT plan tailored to your body, which includes recommended exercise routines and healthy life choices to supplement testosterone replacement therapy.

Enhanced Sex Drive

When a man has trouble performing in the bedroom, it can have a huge effect on his life, both mentally and physically. One day, you're able to "get it up" and have normal sexual intercourse. The next day, it seems like the passion is gone, and it's harder to perform like you used to. Experiencing such symptoms can cause you to go into panic mode. But with TRT, there's a good chance you don't have to.

Research has shown that there is a close relationship between men's sex drive and testosterone production, with higher levels of testosterone often resulting in increased desire. Additionally, low levels of testosterone can have a negative impact on erectile function, affecting both the ability to achieve and maintain an erection as well as the overall quality of erections. These findings highlight the importance of testosterone in male sexual health and provide insight into potential treatments for sexual dysfunction related to low testosterone levels.

Better Heart Health

Research has shown that testosterone can have a positive impact on physical exertion and heart health. In fact, a study conducted by the US Department of Veterans Affairs revealed that men with normal testosterone levels were significantly less likely to experience a stroke or heart attack. These findings suggest that maintaining healthy testosterone levels can be an important factor in overall cardiovascular health.

Improved Memory and Cognition

Do you need help remembering things you would normally not forget? Does it seem like you're in a "haze" sometimes and unable to get your point across? Low testosterone levels could be the culprit.

Fortunately, research has shown a correlation between higher levels of testosterone and a decreased likelihood of developing Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, studies have indicated that optimized testosterone levels may lead to improvements in memory, recall rate, and cognitive function. It stands to reason, then, that restored testosterone levels with the help of TRT in Cool Springs, TN, may help improve your memory and cognition.

 TRT Cool Springs, TN

Happier and More Positive Mood

Research has shown that low levels of testosterone may have negative effects on a person's quality of life, including symptoms such as depression, fatigue, and irritability. However, many studies have indicated that testosterone treatment can lead to improved mood and well-being, as well as reduced fatigue and irritability in men with hypogonadism. In fact, some research has even suggested that testosterone therapy could potentially be used as a form of antidepressant treatment.

The Risks of Living Your Life with Low TRT

Reading about the benefits of TRT in Cool Springs, TN, can be incredibly reassuring for men. But it's important to digest and get a good understanding of the risks of living with low testosterone. Because, if we're being honest, there's more to think about than common symptoms like fatigue and lethargy.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy Cool Springs, TN

Research has shown a correlation between low testosterone levels and an increased risk of diabetes in men as they age. Furthermore, men with diabetes are more likely to have low testosterone levels and experience difficulties with insulin resistance. While testosterone replacement therapy is not a cure for diabetes, studies have suggested that men with healthy testosterone levels have improved blood sugar levels and a reduced risk of obesity.

As men age, they may find it challenging to manage excess body fat around their waistline despite leading a healthy lifestyle with proper diet and exercise. All that stubborn fat can be discouraging, but it's essential to understand that low testosterone levels may be the root cause. Research suggests that low T levels could lead to obesity as testosterone plays a crucial role in regulating metabolism by controlling insulin, glucose, and fat.

The good news is that undergoing TRT with a healthy lifestyle can help with weight loss and improve blood glucose and low-density cholesterol levels. If you find that managing your weight is becoming harder and harder, it might be time to consider testosterone replacement therapy.

Depression is a legitimate disorder that can manifest in various ways, such as feelings of inadequacy and a prolonged negative mood. Research has shown that men with depression and high cortisol levels often have low testosterone levels as well. This is due to the fact that elevated cortisol levels can lead to a decrease in T levels, which can increase the likelihood of severe depression.

When it comes to depression, it's important to remember that it should always be diagnosed and treated by a medical professional. Luckily, testosterone replacement therapy may aid in restoring hormone levels and enabling men to experience a brighter, more optimistic outlook. This is fantastic news for men who have tried antidepressant medications to no avail.

Anemia is a medical condition that arises due to a decrease or dysfunction of red blood cells, leading to a reduced supply of oxygen to organs. According to research, men with low testosterone levels are more susceptible to anemia since testosterone plays a crucial role in the production of healthy red blood cells.

In fact, a 2009 study revealed that older men with low T levels have a five times higher risk of developing anemia compared to those with normal testosterone levels. Although TRT cannot cure anemia, it can help stimulate the production of red blood cells, which may aid in preventing anemia.

Since marrying his wife four years ago, Dr. Lance Reeves and his family have moved twice, gone through a renovation and brought two kids into the world with a third one on the way, all while working to start his own business.

On Monday, the Reeves finally got to celebrate all their hard work and lost hours of sleep with a ribbon cutting ceremony for their brand-new podiatry practice, Cool Springs Foot Care.

Reeves, holding his young son on his hip throughout the ceremony, said he’s had a dream of opening his own practice since he began his journey in podiatry. Now, at the helm of his own ship, Reeves offers a unique, minimally invasive approach to his work.

“My main goal is to help patients get better without surgery,” Reeves said. “I’ve invested in several different modalities — laser, shockwave, wart machines — to help prevent them from needing any type of surgical intervention.”

And when surgery is unavoidable, he uses the least invasive techniques possible so patients can get back on their feet quickly and easily.

Reeves also wants to make sure his care is customized for each patient.

“The main thing with this practice is I like to focus as much as I can on the patient and their needs,” he said. “I don’t want to be a factory mill location [where patients are] coming in super quick, I want to spend time with them and get to know them.”

Reeves’s wife, who he thanked for her support and help throughout their many life changes, held their daughter during the ceremony, completing the family picture.

Matt Largen, president and CEO of Williamson, Inc., said Cool Springs Foot Care is another great example of the positive impacts of entrepreneurship and owning a family business.

“[It’s] such a great thing to see because you really understand how much this business means to this family so it’s thrilling to me to get to meet the whole family today,” said Largen. He added when new businesses join the Chamber of Commerce, it’s “almost like another member of the family.”

This year alone, Williamson, Inc. has welcomed 54 new family members with ribbon cutting ceremonies. Largen said they are on track to reach or beat their record of 72 ribbon cuttings in one year.

Williamson County saw lots of new restaurants, retailers and other businesses open in 2018, while other longtime staples closed their doors for good.

Here's a look at some of the most notable openings and closings in Franklin, Brentwood and Cool Springs this year.

Downtown Franklin

Throughout the year, Main Street has witnessed some changes in downtown Franklin.

Notably, the owners of Gray's on Main Street opened their new business concept next door. The restaurant –– O Be Joyful –– opened its doors to customers in May, when it started serving burgers and bourbon. The eatery took the place of Papa Boudreaux's Cajun Cafe, which closed in 2017.

Down the street on Third Avenue, Biscuit Love finally opened its doors in the Lillie Belle's Victorian House across from City Hall. Asian infused TOP Cold Grill and Ice Cream also opened in Five Points, while Judge Beans closed its space near the Kroger shopping center.

The Factory also had a new restaurant open with Mojo's Tacos taking the place of Saffire. Music City Roots also left The Factory and ultimately stopped production. City Farmhouse also closed its permanent space, opting for just pop-up shop weekends.

Retail wise, Living Franklin moved into the small space next to the Franklin Mercantile. It replaced Ivey Cakes and the Cocoa Tree. Tin Cottage also moved to Main Street from its former North Margin Street location.

The children's clothing shop The Purple Butterfly opened on Second Avenue North. Friedman's of Franklin –– which sold outdoor gear –– also closed on West Main Street. Mercantile 1858 reopened in its place, expanding with a second location out of Arrington.

Shoppes on Main, Bagbey House Gifts and More, Early's Honey Stand, and the Red House all closed in downtown this year. A banner from Jack Yacoubian Jewelers on the Public Square and Philanthropy Home also indicate the two will leave their Main Street spaces.

Cool Springs

During the year, the Cool Springs area had new restaurants and businesses pop up between Mallory Lane and Carothers Parkway.

The Elliston Place Soda Shop opened its Franklin location inside the former Puffy Muffin space.

From 2018:Elliston Place Soda Shop opens Franklin location this weekend

Inside the CoolSprings Galleria, California Kitchen started offering slices this fall in its second Nashville location. Miller's Ale also opened in the former Logan's Roadhouse building.

Near the mall, Olive Garden has started reconfiguring the former Macaroni Grill space, which closed this summer. Chicken-wing themed locations Wild Wings Cafe and Buffalo Rings and Wings also closed its doors. But Chicken Salad Chicken opened this December.

The new 244-room Hilton Franklin Cool Springs also opened this year.

Brentwood

O'Charley's shuttered its doors, while Jason's Deli finally took over the former Ruby Tuesday's space.

The popular Wild Iris restaurant also closed in March, after more than two decades in business.

The Mediterranean chain Taziki's announced an expansion of its current space in July. The owner purchased an adjoining space next door in the CityPark mixed-use community with plans to expand the restaurant's seating capacity from 96 to 144.

Construction is also under way on phase two of the Hill Center development along Franklin Road. A new office building, two retail buildings, a 141-room hotel and a parking garage are all in the works. The phase is expected to wrap up by the end of 2019.

The new phase will create 84,375 square feet of office space and 19,606 square feet of retail space. The two-level parking garage will have 315 spaces.

Once completed, Hill Center will include 421,000 square feet of commercial and office space.

Meridian Cool Springs, a Boyle Investment Company property located in Franklin in Cool Springs, announced Tuesday it has fully leased all available retail space in its 60-acre, mixed-use development with the addition of three final tenants.

Clean Juice, Woodhouse Spa and The Eastern Peak will round out Meridian’s roster of retailers, bringing the property to 100% leased. They will join the recently opened New Moon Yoga studio and fitness studio Hotworx.

“It’s important to us to be intentional about selecting a mix of tenants that create the best walkable, mixed-use communities for residents, office tenants and guests alike,” said Grant Kinnett, who leads retail leasing at Boyle. “We’re proud to grow the Meridian community with tenants who have been a part of our other projects, as well as those that are working with Boyle for the first time. The exciting addition of these new tenants elevates Meridian Cool Springs to the next level.”

Clean Juice is a 100% organic USDA-certified juice bar concept developed in 2014. The Meridian location is husband and wife Sean and Maylissa Ballance’s first Clean Juice franchise and is set to open in early 2022. This will be the second Clean Juice in a Boyle property, joining a location at Capitol View in downtown Nashville.

“We wanted to not only serve the community, but also build a community,” Sean Ballance said. “Our decision to open at Meridian was easy — it really picked us long before we picked it. In earlier parts of my career, I’d go on business trips where we’d stay at Meridian, and I’ve always been impressed with the development. It was a no-brainer to put down our roots here.”

Woodhouse Spa was founded more than 20 years ago as a luxury spa concept focused on mood care and has since expanded to more than 70 franchise locations in 20 states. Woodhouse at Meridian will offer treatments that go beyond the traditional day spa experience, including an infrared sauna, plunge pool, antigravity chairs with virtual reality and more. The Cool Springs location will be franchisee Kimberly Powell’s first Woodhouse in Tennessee. With two other Woodhouse locations already established in South Carolina, Powell plans to open at Meridian in March 2022.

“I decided that I only wanted to open spas in cities that I was passionate about, and that was definitely the Nashville area,” Powell said. “We’re energized to return the Woodhouse brand to Franklin. It’s refreshing to have a partner like Boyle at Meridian who understands the value of a luxury spa in the development and wider community, where we can support all our patrons on their wellness journeys.”

Joining the mix of restaurants at Meridian is The Eastern Peak, which first opened in Murray, Kentucky, in 2006 and has since expanded to Middle Tennessee. The Eastern Peak is known for its Thai and sushi dishes that take on an American twist and combines a modern ambiance that is inspired by culture and art. The Meridian location is slated to open in the spring and will be The Eastern Peak’s sixth restaurant.

David Szemeredy, chief operating officer of The Eastern Peak at Meridian, said he decided to bring the business to this particular community because he always wanted to be in the Cool Springs area.

“We want to provide good food and service to the people of Franklin, and we are looking forward to getting to know the community and having the community get to know us,” he said.

New Moon Yoga is owned and run by husband-and-wife duo Chad and Jenn Fitzgerald, alums of Half Moon Yoga Healing, a local studio that shut its doors during the COVID-19 pandemic. New Moon Yoga is committed to growing the yoga community in Franklin and honoring a holistic approach to body wellness.

“For a small-business owner, location for the studio was one of the most important considerations, and opening in Meridian has been the perfect choice,” Jenn Fitzgerald said. “The overall atmosphere, the parking, everything about it has been a benefit for the business.”

Hotworx provides virtually instructed, infrared sauna workout sessions, which use the benefits of heat absorption and exercise to remove toxins from your organs through muscle contractions. The Meridian studio is now open as Hotworx’s sixth Middle Tennessee location.

These new businesses join longtime Meridian tenants including Cajun Steamer, Tupelo Honey Café, Nutrishop, Peace Eyecare, Tony’s Eat & Drink, Meridian Dental Centre, Noodles & Company, Edward Jones, Fabulous Frocks Bridal, First Watch and more.

Recently, developers held a neighborhood meeting via Zoom to discuss the potential development of the Optima Franklin, 18-acre development which could include office space, retail space, a number of multi-family residential housing units and more.

The National Healthcare Corporation owns the land and hopes to develop the project at the intersection of Cool Springs Boulevard and West McEwen Drive along with Flornoy Development Group. It would be close to its current property, NHC Place at 211 Cool Springs Blvd. in Franklin.

Landscape architect Scotty Bernick of Reagan Smith and Associates gave about a 30-minute presentation detailing plans for the site during the meeting.

Bernick explained that currently, the site is zoned for regional commerce and the applicants would like to have it zoned as a planned district. It would allow for the building of various types of development on the site.

This would include the 14,000 square feet of office space, 3,700 square feet for a bank, 6,000 square feet of retail space and a building of about 348 units and four stories of multi-family residential housing.

He also went into some detail about the importance of greenspace and sidewalks, and the interior connected roads on the site. He also said the site could help families of people in the current NHC facility stay close to their family members receiving treatment during rehabilitation.

“There’s some excitement to have some multi-family use adjacent to the NHC facility,” Bernick said in the presentation. “There are some logical thoughts on how residents and families can age in place, and equally have family that could be near a loved one while they are in the facility. At the same time, it’s exciting to support the commercial components that are within this development.”

The presentation also included that the project would be split into three phases. The first would begin in the middle of next year and would primarily include the commercial and multi-use family residential buildings, as well as a lot of the connecting roads to the current NHC entrance, the intersection of the site, utility improvements and greenspace. Start dates on the other two phases are to be determined. The bank and some other commercial uses would be in those phases.

After the official proposal, which was sent to the City of Franklin last week, it will go in front of the Franklin Municipal Planning Commission on July 28, with the potential first reading of the proposal by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen Aug. 23. Its second reading and public hearing are tentatively scheduled for Sept. 27.

No residents asked or submitted questions at the meeting.

A recording of the meeting can be found on the city of Franklin’s YouTube channel.
