TRT in Belle Meade, TN

When we get older, we come to realize that everything we read and hear isn't always factual. That's particularly relevant when it comes to aging in men. If you were to listen to men 30 years ago, they might tell you that you have to accept the downsides of aging. Intimacy issues in the bedroom are just par for the course, right?

The truth is, as we age, our bodies undergo physiological changes with a gradual decline in energy and ability that is almost imperceptible at first. With time, those changes become more pronounced and concerning. And while older generations may have been content to carry on living with such burdens, advances in modern medicine have shown that these changes often stem from low testosterone.

Service Areas

Some of the most common symptoms of low testosterone include the following:

  • Low Libido
  • ED
  • Fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Depression
  • Muscle Loss
  • Hair Loss
  • Weight Gain
  • Energy Loss
  • Lethargy
  • Non-Interest in Sex

Those are frightening symptoms, especially if you're a man in your mid-thirties or early forties. But if you're suffering from one or more of these symptoms, you should know that you're not alone. Millions of men suffer from low T. In fact, it's been reported that as much as 75% of men go about their days with undiagnosed low testosterone. However, taking a proactive approach and taking the necessary steps to support your body during this transition can help you welcome the aging process and minimize physiological changes.

One of the most popular and effective ways that men across the United States are doing so is with TRT in Belle Meade, TN. This revolutionary therapy helps balance testosterone levels that would otherwise fluctuate with age, giving men just like you a tool to turn back the hands of time. But to do so, you must first understand the all-encompassing effects of testosterone in your body.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy Belle Meade, TN

Understanding Testosterone Levels and Aging

Testosterone is a hormone that is often associated with exaggerated masculinity and aggression. However, in reality, it plays a crucial role in almost every aspect of a male's life. This sex hormone is produced in the testicles and reaches its peak during puberty. The production of testosterone is regulated by the pituitary gland located at the base of the brain. The testicles receive signals from the pituitary gland and produce testosterone accordingly. If the levels of testosterone become too high, the brain signals the pituitary gland to stop its production.

Testosterone has a crucial role for males, and affects the development of:

  • Facial Hair
  • Body Hair
  • Voice Deepness
  • Libido
  • Sperm Development
  • Confidence
  • Muscle Mass

When a man gets older, however, his body begins to change, and his hormone levels often become imbalanced. When that happens, a litany of issues begins to proliferate, causing life to change drastically for men of a certain age. During this time of change, men often lose the "edge" that made them unique. If you're in your mid-30s or 40s, that may sound familiar. Fortunately, you don't have to settle for the new you. TRT in Belle Meade, TN, can help you reclaim the edge you thought you'd lost forever.

To get a true understanding of the advantages of testosterone replacement therapy offered by Compass Human Performance, you've got to know how it works. Testosterone was first synthesized in a laboratory in the early 1900s and has since been recommended as a treatment option for low testosterone levels in medical settings. In recent times, it has become one of the most frequently prescribed medications in the United States.

TRT is designed to re-establish healthy testosterone levels in males who have low T. Its mechanism works much like insulin does for diabetics. As one ages, the body fails to produce sufficient levels of this vital male hormone. When this occurs, an external source is required to replace it, and in this case, TRT serves that purpose.

While many men begin TRT regimens after 50, an increasing number of males in their 30s and 40s are undergoing testing to see if their testosterone levels are lacking. If you are experiencing symptoms such as ED but believe you are too young for low testosterone, you may want to have your T levels evaluated by an experienced doctor to find out for sure.

TRT For Men Belle Meade, TN

In most cases, testosterone levels begin to drop as a man reaches middle age. This is a natural process that is inevitable. However, sometimes, other issues can cause low T. Some of those causes may include the following:

  • Chronic Diseases
  • Injured Testicles
  • Obesity
  • Car Wrecks
  • Substance Abuse
  • Prescription Medications

Outlining the Benefits: Why is TRT in Belle Meade, TN So Popular?

At Compass Human Performance, many first-time patients often ask us about the benefits of testosterone replacement therapy. Luckily, there are a lot of benefits to cover for men suffering from low testosterone.

There is a significant body of evidence indicating that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can have a positive impact on a range of health issues in men, including myocardial ischemia in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), exercise capacity in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF), and serum glucose levels, HbA1c, and insulin resistance in men with diabetes and prediabetes.

But that's just the beginning. Testosterone replacement therapy has been shown to provide men with a host of other benefits, including:

More Muscle and Less Body Fat

Numerous studies have demonstrated the significant impact of testosterone on men's muscle mass, strength, and body fat levels. This is something that most men who begin taking testosterone notice, as it often leads to a dramatic change in their physique. Testosterone is a highly effective muscle mass builder, as it increases protein synthesis required for growth and improves neuromuscular function, resulting in increased strength.

This is due to the androgenic effect of testosterone, which includes the effects of DHT (dihydrotestosterone). Men with higher testosterone levels tend to have lower overall visceral and abdominal body fat levels, as both things (when elevated) have negative impacts on overall health and can lead to increased mortality rates.

However, it is important to note that TRT is not a magic solution - while it is highly effective at increasing muscle, it is not effective at shedding body fat on its own. You can't just hop on a TRT regimen and expect pounds of body fat to fall off your body. A consistent workout regime and a healthy diet are essential for improving this, although testosterone can make the dieting process much easier for those who struggle to lose body fat.

At Compass Human Performance, your provider can help create a customized TRT plan tailored to your body, which includes recommended exercise routines and healthy life choices to supplement testosterone replacement therapy.

Enhanced Sex Drive

When a man has trouble performing in the bedroom, it can have a huge effect on his life, both mentally and physically. One day, you're able to "get it up" and have normal sexual intercourse. The next day, it seems like the passion is gone, and it's harder to perform like you used to. Experiencing such symptoms can cause you to go into panic mode. But with TRT, there's a good chance you don't have to.

Research has shown that there is a close relationship between men's sex drive and testosterone production, with higher levels of testosterone often resulting in increased desire. Additionally, low levels of testosterone can have a negative impact on erectile function, affecting both the ability to achieve and maintain an erection as well as the overall quality of erections. These findings highlight the importance of testosterone in male sexual health and provide insight into potential treatments for sexual dysfunction related to low testosterone levels.

Better Heart Health

Research has shown that testosterone can have a positive impact on physical exertion and heart health. In fact, a study conducted by the US Department of Veterans Affairs revealed that men with normal testosterone levels were significantly less likely to experience a stroke or heart attack. These findings suggest that maintaining healthy testosterone levels can be an important factor in overall cardiovascular health.

Improved Memory and Cognition

Do you need help remembering things you would normally not forget? Does it seem like you're in a "haze" sometimes and unable to get your point across? Low testosterone levels could be the culprit.

Fortunately, research has shown a correlation between higher levels of testosterone and a decreased likelihood of developing Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, studies have indicated that optimized testosterone levels may lead to improvements in memory, recall rate, and cognitive function. It stands to reason, then, that restored testosterone levels with the help of TRT in Belle Meade, TN, may help improve your memory and cognition.

 TRT Belle Meade, TN

Happier and More Positive Mood

Research has shown that low levels of testosterone may have negative effects on a person's quality of life, including symptoms such as depression, fatigue, and irritability. However, many studies have indicated that testosterone treatment can lead to improved mood and well-being, as well as reduced fatigue and irritability in men with hypogonadism. In fact, some research has even suggested that testosterone therapy could potentially be used as a form of antidepressant treatment.

The Risks of Living Your Life with Low T

Reading about the benefits of TRT in Belle Meade, TN, can be incredibly reassuring for men. But it's important to digest and get a good understanding of the risks of living with low testosterone. Because, if we're being honest, there's more to think about than common symptoms like fatigue and lethargy.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy Belle Meade, TN

Research has shown a correlation between low testosterone levels and an increased risk of diabetes in men as they age. Furthermore, men with diabetes are more likely to have low testosterone levels and experience difficulties with insulin resistance. While testosterone replacement therapy is not a cure for diabetes, studies have suggested that men with healthy testosterone levels have improved blood sugar levels and a reduced risk of obesity.

As men age, they may find it challenging to manage excess body fat around their waistline despite leading a healthy lifestyle with proper diet and exercise. All that stubborn fat can be discouraging, but it's essential to understand that low testosterone levels may be the root cause. Research suggests that low T levels could lead to obesity as testosterone plays a crucial role in regulating metabolism by controlling insulin, glucose, and fat.

The good news is that undergoing TRT with a healthy lifestyle can help with weight loss and improve blood glucose and low-density cholesterol levels. If you find that managing your weight is becoming harder and harder, it might be time to consider testosterone replacement therapy.

Depression is a legitimate disorder that can manifest in various ways, such as feelings of inadequacy and a prolonged negative mood. Research has shown that men with depression and high cortisol levels often have low testosterone levels as well. This is due to the fact that elevated cortisol levels can lead to a decrease in T levels, which can increase the likelihood of severe depression.

When it comes to depression, it's important to remember that it should always be diagnosed and treated by a medical professional. Luckily, testosterone replacement therapy may aid in restoring hormone levels and enabling men to experience a brighter, more optimistic outlook. This is fantastic news for men who have tried antidepressant medications to no avail.

Anemia is a medical condition that arises due to a decrease or dysfunction of red blood cells, leading to a reduced supply of oxygen to organs. According to research, men with low testosterone levels are more susceptible to anemia since testosterone plays a crucial role in the production of healthy red blood cells.

In fact, a 2009 study revealed that older men with low T levels have a five times higher risk of developing anemia compared to those with normal testosterone levels. Although TRT cannot cure anemia, it can help stimulate the production of red blood cells, which may aid in preventing anemia.

Gather the family, some chairs if you want to sit in one place comfortably, get some hot chocolate and a cookie, and head down to any number of places to see the holidays on parade. You might even be able to make it to more than one, if time and tempers allow.

As part of our series on free and cheap things to do with the family, here is our weekly roundup of places to spend time together over the next week:

Franklin Christmas Parade

This annual tradition winds through Historic Downtown Franklin. The Franklin Christmas Parade has been going on the first weekend of December for more than 30 years when it was first presented by the Kiwanis Club of Franklin. The parade ends heralding the arrival of Santa Claus to Franklin. The Downtown Franklin Rotary is now presenting the longtime transition, which is always held the day after the Christmas tree lighting downtown.

Belle Meade Christmas Parade

On Dec. 2, the City of Belle Meade will be hosting its first-ever Christmas Parade. The parade begins at 2 p.m. on Page Road and will proceed down Belle Meade Boulevard, ending at the Belle Meade Country Club. The Belle Meade, Hillwood, and West Meade communities will also be hosting their fourth annual Santa on Fire Engine event. Santa will make four stops at Carnavon West Meade Park, Brook Hollow Baptist Church, Belle Meade United Methodist Church, and Belle Meade Links / Parmer Park, while joining the parade in between the final two stops.

Bell Buckle Christmas Pet Parade

The first Saturday in December will also usher in the Christmas Pet Parade in Bell Buckle on Main Street. Pets will don their Christmas clothes and strut through downtown Bell Buckle. Santa will also be on deck offering free magical sleigh rides every Saturday in December around the quaint, tree-lined streets where the community has set up lights and festive decor around the small town. There’ll also be a s’mores pit, an area to write letters to Santa and all the regular old-timey charm of Bell Buckle.

Murfreesboro Christmas Parade

On Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. in downtown Murfreesboro, the city will host a Christmas Magic themed Christmas Parade. The floats, musical acts and Santa and his sleigh will travel down Main Street beginning at Middle Tennessee State University and end at the Historic Downtown Square.

City of Goodlettsville Christmas Parade

The Annual Goodlettsville Christmas Parade is slated for 4 p.m. on Dec. 2 with a theme of Country Christmas. The parade route will begin at the Delmas Long Community Center (200 Memorial Drive) and continue up Memorial Drive, taking a right onto Main Street and ending at the Goodlettsville Plaza (Rivergate Parkway).

East Memphis restaurant Belle Meade Social opened its doors on May 9.

Expect an elevated, contemporary spin on classic American favorites, from shareable starters and salads to entrees and sides served in an inviting dining room and bar.

Belle Meade Social was founded by Jules Jordan and Paul Stephens. The new restaurant, located in the former Strano by Chef Josh space at 518 Perkins Ext., is open for lunch and dinner.

“We are so excited to bring a new fun energy to the corner at Poplar and Perkins,” Jordan said. “We’ve been working hard to make an incredibly unique space for everyone to enjoy at any occasion. The only thing we’ve been missing is our guests, and we are so excited to invite everyone into our new home.”

Jordan said she hopes the restaurant will fill the gap between fast-casual and fine dining. “Belle Meade Social is upscale, but approachable,” she said.

Belle Meade Social's name is a nod to the surrounding Belle Meade residential neighborhood.

What to expect at Belle Meade Social

Jordan and Stephens have updated the 5,700-square-foot space, creating a modern and inviting restaurant with a variety of dining areas.

Guests can dine in the more traditional “The Garden Room” or at tables in the spacious bar room. I predict the banquette tables that line the bar side of the restaurant will be sought-after seats for those wanting to be part of the action at the new East Memphis eatery, which I visited for lunch on opening day.

For those just wanting a drink, grab a seat at the bar or in the lounge-like “Tuckahoe Room” (named for a street in Belle Meade). The bar menu features a creative list of signature cocktails, including a handful of alcohol-free libations. The wine and beer lists offer a wide variety of options.

It’s one of those restaurants that I think you could be comfortable going to in jeans with a nice top, or dressed up for a special occasion.

What’s on the menu at Belle Meade Social?

We started with the Spicy Tuna Stack ($18) and Honey Whipped Feta Dip ($14). The Ahi tuna dish was a bright and tasty spin on tuna tartar. The whipped feta was a nice shareable dish served with warm pita wedges, toasted nut and mixed olives. The Parmesan Truffle Fries ($8) served with a house-made tarragon aioli at the table next to us looked very tempting — and will be an appetizer I order next visit.

The Steak & Noodle Salad ($28) was a surprisingly light and tasty entrée salad. New York strip cooked a perfect medium-rare is tossed with fresh greens, soba noodles, basil, mint, fresh mango and spicy vinaigrette. It was a generous portion.

Our server recommended the Kung-Pao Salmon ($26) — and we were glad he did. A tender piece of salmon is served with a sweet and slightly spicy kung-pao glaze.

There is a something for everyone on the menu — with items like pizzas, burgers, steaks and roasted chicken also available.

Eric Ingraham is the executive chef at Belle Meade Social. Ingraham has run multiple restaurant kitchens, both in Memphis and Florida, as well as served as a restaurant general manager. He has been with the Pimento’s brand for the last decade.

"I recognized his untapped, underutilized talents in the kitchen and wanted to bring him along to lead the menu curation and back of house here," Jordan said.

Who's behind Belle Meade Social?

Jules Jordan is the daughter of Holiday Ham and Pimento's founder Trey Jordan. Like Jules Jordan, Stephens also worked with the Jordan family business.

"I essentially grew up in the restaurant business,” Jules Jordan said. “In fact, my mom was pregnant with me when my dad opened his very first Holiday Ham in this very building.”

That was 29 years ago.

“You know he was 29 then, and I am 29 opening my first restaurant in the exact same building," she said. "Isn’t that crazy?"

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Big changes could be coming to the Belle Meade Plaza shopping area in the next few years. The Planning Commission is considering plans for a new, mixed-use development. The proposal is on the agenda for their February 9 meeting.

For decades it's been a big retail space in the area, but now developer AJ Capital Partners is hoping to transform it into a spot where the community can shop, live and enjoy the outdoors.

If AJ Capital Partners sounds familiar, it's because it's the same firm that terminated the lease for the group running the Exit/In and is planning to remodel parts of the building.

The property on the corner of White Bridge and Harding sees a lot of traffic every day. Right now it's home to businesses like Kroger, Katy's Hallmark and Ninki. Kroger will be relocating, but the future for the others and if they'll be staying is up in the air.

"We need to keep our old buildings," said Janelle Holt, a lifelong Nashvillian.

"I loved Nashville the way it was, and I just don’t like it no more. You can’t get around in this town," said Steve Ray, another Nashville native.

New plans include five buildings dedicated to retail spaces on the 10+ acre property. There will be up to 120 condos and 380 apartment units, as well as a 15-story building that could have hotel space. Of the ten acres they're working with, plans show more than six will be open space for the community and at least three of those acres will be green space with a creek trail and boardwalk.

But by no means is this a done deal.

In order to get things moving, the Metro Planning Commission will have to approve a zoning change. The rezoning request is expected to be heard by the MPC on February 9th.

According to FEMA's flood map, part of the property also falls in the 500 year flood plain. "Man that got flooded too didn’t it?" said Ray. "It’s gotta go somewhere but I don’t know where."

For Janelle Holt, she's ready to share her frustration before all the gems of her past go extinct. "I don’t think it’s good," said Holt. "We need to keep a little bit of -- sanity, I guess you’d call it."

So far, AJ Capital Partners hasn't returned our request for comment.

A community meetingis being held Thursday, January 5 at Montgomery Bell Academy at 6 p.m. NewsChannel 5 will have a crew at the meeting. Look for the latest on NewsChannel 5 at 10.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Renderings have been released showing the final proposal for the Belle Meade Plaza development before the Metro Planning Commission vote on the project at a meeting Thursday night.

The changes include increasing the number of parking spaces while reducing the size and height of retail and apartment buildings in the redeveloped shopping complex.

It comes following a NDOT traffic study that gave failing grades to two main roads in the area. The study said the traffic issues will only get worse over the next decade with three developments near the intersection of White Bridge Pike and Harding Pike.

Developer Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners said it changed its plans after working with Planning Department staff to incorporate feedback from several community meetings.

People who live in the area, like Kate Parrish, said they are still concerned the project will turn the already congested area into complete gridlock.

“The development that is being proposed currently is too big. Period,” Parrish said. “It’s too big for what the current infrastructure of that intersection can handle.”

Parrish said the updated plans and NDOT traffic study were not released early enough, limiting the amount of time community members are able to review the proposals and how it will impact their neighborhoods.

NDOT gives Belle Meade Plaza intersection ‘F’ rating for congestion

Her main concern is the risk that comes with the developments that will create more than 1,000 new apartments, 400,000 square feet of retail and office space, a grocery store and multiple hotels.

“It’s not safe right now for anybody to walk to Belle Meade Plaza. It’s not safe for anyone to ride a bicycle to Belle Meade Plaza,” Parrish said. “These are the upgrades and additions that we would need in order for the Belle Meade Plaza to actually be of use to community members.”

AJ Capital said it wants to work to fix these issues in its Belle Meade Plaza development. Vice President Pablo David released a statement that reads in part: “We are excited to note that this program reduces daily site visits by 40% of what currently exists. In addition to our revised proposal, Adventurous Journeys has committed to fund NDOT’s recommendations following a robust mobility study.”

The Planning Commission meeting starts at 4 p.m. Thursday. The development team will present its changes before the commission possibly votes on their staff’s recommendation to approve the project with some conditions.

New Belle Meade project sparks widespread debate among 300 plus people in attendance

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A new project is under the microscope. There's a plan to replace the 1960's era Belle Meade Plaza.

Small businesses there for decades are worried it will push them out. On Thursday night, hundreds of residents and business owners gathered to discuss the future of the plaza.

From the luxury buildings to the scenic public greenways with lots of space, some residents consider this a win for their area. But at the same token, some small business owners think it'll be impossible to survive the new Nashville if developers keep moving in like this.

From social media to community meetings, it's a topic bringing widespread debate. FOX 17 News asked Councilmember Kathleen Murphy what she would say to the small businesses that are concerned.

"They're [developers] going to want to put popular businesses back in," Murphy says. "That’s how supply and demand and capitalism works and I think the surrounding area really likes the uses that are there. But that building really can’t support what is the Nashville of today.”

Councilmember Kathleen Murphy says the current infrastructure is in a floodway, thanks to the creek nearby. She also adds that what's currently there is not a modern facility that's environmentally friendly.

However, some say they don't want “new Nashville” in Belle Meade, as they like the current charm it offers.

Murphy responds, “Well, I think if it's coming to charm of architecture, the 1960's strip center does not reflect this areas charm at all. And the architecture that’s being proposed is very lovely.“

The proposal features multi-story towers to house residents in both condos and apartments, along with hotel and retail space. It's sitting on more than 10 acres of land. It's a vision by AJ Capital that would take years to complete.

“I think they need to kind of hone down and really decide what they want to do because that’s a whole lot of uses. But also some of that is dictated by what the traffic and what the intersection can handle," Murphy says.

Traffic is another major concern for people in the area, as this lot sits next to an already busy intersection. Murphy says there will be another community meeting on the Jan. 21 with the Nashville Department of Transportation (NDOT) to discuss those logistics.
